n p&o manager wins independent travel prize
Caroline Smith of P&OBusiness Travel has been named best account manager, Independent Travel Agency, at the annual KLMUK Dutch Master awards for travel agents. Smith won the award after working closely with KLMUK to achieve joint objectives on a number of corporate accounts.
n Yorkshire tourist board launches venue guide
The Yorkshire Tourist Board is launching its 1999/2000 conference and venue guide to over 100 key conference and meetings organisers on March 2. Yorkshire claims to have a 5% share of the UK market in this sector. The launch is timed to coincide with Confex ’99, which takes place at Earl’s Court on March 2-4.

The International Travel Partnership has presented its first Gold Partner award for 1999 to Budget Rent-a-Car. The awards are presented to suppliers which can guarantee product familiarity, personal contacts and reliability.
