Anite makes 12 redundancies following divisional mergers

ANITE has made 12 redundancies following a merger between its new technology division and media and leisure division.

The managing director of the newly created Anite Business Systems division, Neil Green, said the redundancies had been made where duplication occurred among sales and administration staff.

The new division would have a total staff of 270 people, he said.

The move is aimed at bringing the staff responsible for developing new technology, and those dealing directly with customers, closer together. The latest changes follow the departure of media and leisure managing director Steve Bennett (Travel Weekly January 20). The company said he left of his own accord.

Senior executives responsible for travel products have been given wider responsibilities due to the shake-up.

These include sales director Kevin Thorogood, production director Malkit Chanit and strategic projects director Peter Newton.
