New Terra Mitica theme park set to draw in the crowds

BENIDORM’S new theme park, Terra Mitica, is expected to attract an additional 600,000 UK visitors to the region each year.

The £250m park, due to open in July, will be the largest of its kind in Europe and will rival Universal Studios’ Port Aventura in Costa Dorada.

Several tour operators are presently in negotiation with the park to carry the product in their brochures.

In anticipation of the increase of visitors, hotels and apartments for 55,000 people are currently being built.

The park has 25 attractions themed to portray various Mediterranean civilisations. There are also high-speed roller coasters, and rides that include a 60m free fall.

The park will also have nine children’s rides and three large-scale shows, 14 shops, 12 restaurants and 17 bars.

Entrance price to the park costs £17 per day for adults and £12 for children and senior citizens during high season.
