2023 Agent Achievement Awards opens for entries and voting

The UK & Ireland’s biggest and most prestigious celebration of the travel trade is to return this summer as Travel Weekly honours the industry’s best agents and agencies.

The 2023 Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards will return to London’s Park Plaza Westminster Hotel on Thursday, July 13, and will be held for the third year in association with headline sponsor Virgin Atlantic.

Founded in 1997, the AAAs feature a range of supplier-voted categories recognising the best small and large agencies by region, sales channel and product specialisms, in addition to self-nominated categories which celebrate individual agents and business excellence.

After their successful introduction in 2022, self-nominated and nominated categories will also reward excellence in a range of fields including agencies’ commitment to sustainability, staff development, wellbeing and mental health.

Reflecting the ongoing importance of the homeworking sector and the diverse range of companies within it, the traditional Homeworking Agency of the Year category will this year be divided into large and small agency categories to allow businesses of all sizes to be in contention.

Lucy Huxley, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly Group, said: “We are incredibly excited to launch the 2023 AAAs as we celebrate our frontline readers and the agencies they represent with such distinction.

“The ceremony is always a highpoint of the industry calendar, and we are sure this year’s will be no exception as we plan another spectacular occasion and honour the UK & Ireland’s best high street, home-based and call centre agencies.”

She added: “As always, we are indebted to our headline sponsor Virgin Atlantic and to all our supplier sponsors and partners for their support.”

Nicki Goldsmith, Virgin Atlantic director of agency sales, said: “We are delighted to partner with Travel Weekly on the Agent Achievement Awards for the third year running. These awards provide the opportunity for the travel agent community to come together and recognise each other’s achievements, while looking forward to the future of travel as our customers continue to take to the skies.

“Sponsoring the Agent Achievement Awards is a way for Virgin Atlantic to thank our prestigious trade partners for their ongoing support. We’re truly thrilled to continue this partnership.”
