Jet2.com and Jet2holidays named as supporters of National Apprenticeship Week

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have been named as supporters of National Apprenticeship Week 2024.

A week-long series of activities are planned over February 5-11 including attending the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair, tree planting with charity partner, Trees for Cities, and developing ideas to support the ‘Jet2 Journey to Net Zero’ and sustainability strategy.

A ‘lunch and learn’ session on managing money delivered by Barclays Digital Eagles will be featured while apprentices will be encouraged to return to their schools and colleges to deliver careers talks.

Jet2 offers trade partners slice of £500,000 apprenticeship funds

Successful applicants of Jet2holidays’ recently launched Appoint an Apprentice scheme will also visit the company’s commercial offices in Leeds.

The initiative introduced last month saw the company provide apprenticeship training funding for all apprentices through the levy share scheme and up to £5,000 to fund the salaries of new apprentices working at independent travel agencies.

Currently, the sister airline and tour operation employ more than 150 apprentices across a range of disciplines from finance and engineering to HR, IT and marketing.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays recognised 33 apprentices graduating from their apprenticeship scheme at a second annual apprenticeship graduation ceremony in October (pictured).

HR director Miriam D’souli said: “Our apprentices are integral to our ongoing business success and growth, so we are delighted to be involved with the supporters club for National Apprenticeship Week 2024.

“With the significant recruitment of even more apprentices planned for next year as well as the opportunities available to existing colleagues, the future of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays looks very bright with the array of talent progressing through the companies.

“As our apprenticeship programme plays a key role in our development, we look forward to continuously welcoming even more apprentices and nurturing existing talent, to ensure we continue to be industry leaders.”
