Liverpool airport set for busiest post-Covid festive season

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is expecting its busiest festive period since before the pandemic in 2019.

Around 120,000 passengers are expected to use the Merseyside airport over the Christmas and new year holiday period.

However, business levels are still recovering and are about 75% of pre-Covid volumes.

Popular destinations among the 52 served include Dublin, Belfast, Geneva, Alicante, Isle of Man, Malaga, Tenerife, Cork, Lanzarote, Amsterdam, Knock and Faro.

EasyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Loganair, Lufthansa and Play will be operating.

A spokesperson said: “This Christmas and new year period is expected to be our busiest since pre-Covid and it will be great once again at this time of year to see thousands of passengers from across the region taking advantage of the convenience of flying hassle free from Liverpool.

“We pride ourselves for being faster, easier and friendlier, but would like to remind all passengers to always allow plenty of time when travelling to the airport, come prepared and think carefully about what they are carrying in their hand luggage.”
