Norse Atlantic Airways has claimed the position as the largest transatlantic carrier from Gatwick this summer after adding two new routes to the US.
Services by the long-haul low-cost carrier to Los Angeles and San Francisco started at the weekend.
Los Angeles is being served with daily flights with return fares starting at £460.
The San Francisco route is being flown three times a week with lead-in returns of £455.

The new routes came as aviation data firm Cirium forecast that July departures UK to the US are set to exceed 2019 levels by 1% at 4,658 flights, equating to more than 1.2 million seats.
Transatlantic flights from the UK to the US are up 18% compared to July last year and 395% compared to May 2021.
Heathrow has the highest share of scheduled UK-US flights this month (82%), followed by Gatwick (8%), Edinburgh (5%) and Manchester (4%) – with a total of nine UK airports having direct flights to the US.
Norse Atlantic chief executive Bjørn Tore Larsen said: “Los Angeles and San Francisco have now become the fifth and sixth destinations to the US from our London base.
“With the addition of these two destinations Norse Atlantic is now the largest long-haul operator to the US from London Gatwick.
“We are proud to offer an affordable and convenient way to explore these two iconic cities and experience the renowned sights and cultural landmarks that make each destination unique.”
The airline already serves US destinations including New York, Washington, Miami and Orlando with two-class Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
