Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines has signed a commercial agreement with Iata to be among the first airlines to launch the association’s Travel Pass app on international routes.
Pegasus was the first airline in Turkey to trial Iata’s Travel Pass, which allows passengers to digitally store and manage their health-related documents, such as Covid-19 test results and vaccine certificates.
Now the airline has successfully completed the app’s trial period and signed a commercial agreement with Iata, its passengers can download and use the app for free.
The pass combines the verification of health information in a single digital app, allowing guests to securely verify that they meet Covid-19-related country entry requirements.
To protect the privacy of its users, the information is stored on the mobile phones of the passengers instead of any central database.
