UK tourist numbers to the US continue to lag behind pre-pandemic levels, latest official figures show.
While the UK remains the top source market, numbers in the year to April remain more than 15% down on the equivalent period in 2019.
However, the 1.171 million total for the first four months of year exceeds the equivalent period last year by 5.7%.
The UK led arrival numbers in the year to April, ahead of India, Brazil, Germany and Japan.
The UK also remained the highest contributor of overseas arrivals to the US for the fourth consecutive month in April, according to the US National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO).
France was in second place, followed by India, Germany and Brazil.
US tourism officials at the IPW conference in Los Angeles last month predicted that the UK market would fully recover to pre-pandemic levels next year.
