United Airlines aims to run 22 transatlantic flights a day from London this summer as it boosted service to the US with a new Boston connection.
The daily Heathrow-Boston service is being operated by Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 167 seats.
The aircraft is configured with 46 flat-bed seats in business class, 22 Premium Plus seats and 99 in economy, including 47 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space.
United claims it is offering more premium seats between London and Boston than any other US carrier.
The carrier operates 31 daily flights to seven onward destinations across the US from Boston Logan international airport.
UK and Ireland sales director Bob Schumacher said: “We are excited about our all-new service between London Heathrow and Boston, which provides our customers in the UK with even greater travel choice and direct access to Boston and the broader New England region.
“This is a wonderful area of the United States and truly has something for everyone. We very much look forward to welcoming our customers on board this new service”.
Heathrow chief commercial officer Ross Baker added: “It’s fantastic to be launching a new link between New England and the UK.
“United’s new Boston-London link is a great addition to its expanded operations at Heathrow and will give our passengers more choice in direct flights to the US.”
