The shortlists for the 2023 Globe Travel Awards have been unveiled, with travel agents invited to vote for their top suppliers in a range of categories by Friday, December 9.
The Globes are the most prestigious awards in the UK travel industry, and the winners will be unveiled at a glittering ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House hotel on Thursday, January 12.
The shortlists were created based on nominations from travel agents during September and October and are revealed in a special 68-page supplement published with this edition of Travel Weekly.
Voting is now open to all bona fide travel sellers at globetravelawards.co.uk.
Writing in the supplement, Travel Weekly Group editor-in-chief Lucy Huxley said: “After years of disruption due to the pandemic, it feels great to be planning for a return to the Globes’ traditional date in January.
“The industry continues to face multiple challenges as it plots its route to recovery, but it has proven its resilience time and again, and agents and operators alike will be united in hoping the fantastic rebound we saw this summer can be maintained.”
She added: “Our industry is built on relationships and partnerships – between people, between brands and between companies and destinations across the world.
“It is this spirt of partnership we look to celebrate at the Globes each year, and the incredible support we receive from our travel agent readers during the nomination and voting process is a testament to a desire to support us in that aim.”
In addition to categories voted for by agents, four special awards will be handed out on the evening.
These included new categories recognising companies’ commitment to sustainability and staff wellbeing, in addition to established awards celebrating outstanding contribution to the industry and an unsung hero who has gone out of their way to support colleagues and customers.
