Carnival Cruise Line has held the steel-cutting ceremony for its third Excel-class ship at the Meyer Werft shipbuilding yard in Germany.
Representatives from the line came together in Papenburg today (March 18) to mark Carnival Jubilee’s unveiling, as confetti was thrown and a champagne toast was made.
A silhouette of the ship was cut from steel and signed by everyone in attendance.

The 5,228-passenger vessel, due to launch in October 2023, will initially be based in Galveston, Texas.
The ship is scheduled to depart from Southampton on October 30, 2023 on an 18-night transatlantic crossing.
Ports of call include Vigo, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Funchal and Grand Turk before arriving in Texas.
A special plaque was also cut from the same piece of steel to commemorate Carnival’s 50th birthday.
Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy, said: “It’s our birthday and with today’s steel cutting for Carnival Jubilee, this is a great way to honour the accomplishments of Carnival Cruise Line’s first 50 years and to celebrate the excitement ahead.”
Carnival Jubilee will join sister vessels Mardi Gras, which started sailing from Port Canaveral earlier this year, and Carnival Celebration.
It will offer seven-day Western Caribbean cruise vacations from Galveston from November 18, 2023.
Sailings will include stop-offs in Cozumel and Costa Maya, both in Mexico, as well as Mahogany Bay, Honduras.
