Seabourn to resume Canada calls after two-year break

Seabourn has confirmed its 2022 Alaska, Canada and New England programme after the opening of Canadian ports following the relaxation of Covid restrictions.

The line’s president Josh Leibowitz welcomed the framework put in place by the Canadian government for cruise ships calling into the country’s ports.

The Covid measures state that everyone – with “very few” exceptions – must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and there is also a testing and reporting requirement.

The line’s 450-passenger vessels – Seabourn Odyssey and Seabourn Quest – will operate voyages during the season.

Seabourn Odyssey will sail a series seven-day voyages between Vancouver and Juneau from May to September 2022.

Each seven-day cruise can be combined to create a 14-day round-trip Vancouver voyage. In addition, the ship will sail four 10-day and 11-day voyages from Vancouver.

Starting from late August, Seabourn Quest will cruise along the eastern side of Canada with a series of 12-day voyages to Canada and New England.

The ship will head south from Montreal to Miami on a 14-day Atlantic Coast Harbours cruise in late October.

Leibowitz said: “We welcome this new guidance from the Canadian government that will allow our guests to visit beautiful ports in Canada again.

“We look forward to returning to these amazing destinations and offering our travellers a world of experiences on land and at sea.”
