Families will find there’s more to explore in this Mediterranean archipelago

From Segway tours and quad bike excursions to Blue Flag beaches and scuba diving, Malta boasts the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation for a long-awaited family holiday. Whether your clients are travelling as a family with small kids, teenagers, or with the grandparents in tow, they will find an extensive choice of activities to keep everyone entertained.

Malta and Gozo are both small islands, so expect short journeys to get from A to B, and more time to explore. It’s only a three-hour flight from the UK, with a choice of flights departing from numerous airports.

Malta has also recently relaxed its entry requirements, and unvaccinated visitors can now visit the islands, with proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival, or a rapid antigen test, taken within 24 hours of arrival.

There are more than 7,000 years of history to discover across Malta and Gozo, with forts, Unesco World Heritage Sites and castles among the many attractions that allow visitors to really get under the skin of the islands’ past.

Hop on a Segway for the chance to whizz around Mdina or the capital Valletta, taking in some key sights along the way. Or head out on a laidback tuk-tuk tour, to see the highlights of Gozo.

For a unique and special stay, why not recommend that your clients stay in a converted farmhouse? Dating back hundreds of years, these farmhouses dotted across Malta and Gozo still maintain their rustic appearance, and are perfect for multi-generational family groups, or families with older children who want their own rooms.

For adventurous kids, teens or adults, scuba diving is a great way to see the marine life in the Med. Anyone over the age of 10 can even get their internationally recognised Padi certification while on holiday in Malta. After all that adventure, parents or grandparents can choose one of the islands’ 11 Blue Flag beaches to relax on. There truly is something for the whole family in Malta.
