Sail Norway’s jaw-dropping coastline on a nature-filled fam trip
Dramatic fjords fringed by snow-cloaked peaks, and rocky islets blanketed by lush greenery – Norway’s coastline is home to its fair share of unbridled beauty. From the city of Bergen in the south to Kirkenes in the Arctic Circle, there are more than 2,500 nautical miles of coastline to explore. Now, you can have the chance to experience it for yourself as part of an exciting Havila Voyages fam trip.
Sustainable sailings
Not only do the coastal route sailings show off the wonders of Norway’s coastline, but they also help to protect it. Havila Voyages’ ships run on a combination of battery and liquefied natural gas, and can sail for four hours without releasing any emissions. What’s more, their hulls are designed with energy efficiency in mind, creating a smoother and quieter sailing. All guests are encouraged to take part in the line’s Eco‑Voyager Programme, which offers advice on how to be as eco-friendly as possible, from reusing towels on board to engaging with the communities in the places visited.
Year-round wonder
The beauty of Norway’s coast is evergreen, so your clients will be in for a treat whatever time of year they choose to set sail. In the autumn, the abundant foliage that covers much of the country begins to turn warm shades of yellow and red, while the darker nights create the perfect backdrop for the aurora borealis, when lights are projected brightly across the sky. The phenomenon continues to appear throughout the winter, complementing the snow and transforming the magical scenery into a true winter wonderland. Come spring, southern Norway begins to bloom again, while the snow is still on the ground much farther north, creating a unique experience of two seasons at once.
There’s plenty to admire during the summer as well – namely, the marvel of the midnight sun. Magical experiences take place on board Havila Voyages’ ships too. As passengers traverse the coastline, they will be taken on a culinary journey with dishes that change as they sail through different regions. Locally sourced ingredients help bring the menus to life, giving guests a true taste of coastal Norway.

Three exciting excursions
As well as enjoying the impressive onboard amenities and soaking up the awe-inspiring scenery, guests on the fam trip will have a choice of three excursions.
A taste of Vesterålen
The Vesterålen archipelago is made up of 1,330 islands, each offering plenty in the way of amazing scenery, wildlife and history. After disembarking in Harstad, located on Norway’s largest island of Hinnøya, travellers will have the chance to uncover history at the Trondenes Church and Historical Centre, as well as to sample lefse, the traditional Norwegian flatbread.
Sea eagle safari in Trollfjorden
Departing the ship in the open water and transferring to the MS Orca, you’ll set sail in pursuit of a glimpse of the majestic sea eagle. The mighty creature is the largest bird of prey in northern Europe, with a 2.5m wingspan and sharp yellow claws. Sailing the fjord on a boat with a large outdoor area provides the best chance of a clear sighting.
Trondheim and Nidaros Cathedral
Small in size but big in charm, Trondheim is a lively city that offers fascinating history and stunning vistas in equal measure. On this excursion, travellers will visit Norway’s national shrine, Nidaros Cathedral, which is one of the largest in northern Europe. It’s a striking landmark on the edge of the city, and the tour will show clients its impressive architecture.
