Embark on a stunning journey along Norway’s coast, with foodie experiences, unique excursions and more along the way

A voyage on the Norwegian Coastal Express will give your clients the opportunity to really get under the skin of Norway and to see and experience it in a truly special way. Hurtigruten has been connecting passengers with communities along the Norwegian coastline since 1893, and its historic sailings give today’s guests a real taste of the country.

With jaw-dropping scenery – including peaceful fjords, islets and quaint harbour villages – it’s no wonder this is considered one of the most beautiful voyages in the world. As well as viewing the spectacular scenery, the experiences both on board and on shore make the voyage even more incredible.

These are culinary journeys too, as guests are invited to understand the local foods and sample some of the most authentic and delicious dishes along the way. The ingredients are sourced locally and sustainably too. And if your clients can pull themselves away from the comfort of Hurtigruten’s ships, there’s a host of experiences on shore, at an additional cost.

Guests can visit traditional fishing villages, purchase a hiking pass, head out on a birdwatching safari, go dog-sledding and more. Your clients can enjoy this experience while knowing it’s one of the greenest and most sustainable on the market too, with 25% lower CO2 emissions through the use of batteries and biofuel.

Three Norwegian Coastal Express itineraries for 2023-24

12-day Classic Round Voyage

Sailing more than 2,800 miles and stopping at 34 ports, this is Hurtigruten’s signature voyage, offering guests the chance to see as much of coastal Norway as possible. Setting off and returning to Bergen, the voyage passes into the Arctic Circle up to Kirkenes and back down again, with around 70 optional seasonal excursions to choose from.

7-day Classic Voyage North

Those who are keen to embrace Norwegian culture will enjoy this slightly shorter voyage, stopping in towns and cities that are home to several galleries and museums. Ålesund, Bodø, Trondheim and Tromsø are among the ports of call here, where there’s plenty of time to explore. Excursions vary depending on the season, but departures take place all year round.

6-day Classic Voyage South

Scenic views are front and centre of this voyage, which sails by some of the most impressive fjords, islands and mountain ranges in Norway. Spot the Lyngen Alps in the north of the country if the conditions are clear, and marvel at the landscapes when the ship passes through the Vesterålen and Lofoten islands.
