The boutique cruise line is expanding its offering for the winter 2024-25 season
It’s not hard to find the appeal of sailing around the Mediterranean. On board one of Windstar Cruises’ six all-suite sailing yachts, your clients can experience the splendour of the region’s most breathtaking destinations like never before.
Building upon its impressive programme of summer itineraries, Windstar set sail for its first Mediterranean winter cruise season at the end of 2023. Now, thanks to the positive feedback the new sailings received, Windstar has decided to keep Star Legend sailing in the region for the 2024-25 winter season, with five regular voyages and two special festive itineraries.
1. Winter Italy & the Dalmatian Coast
Setting sail on five dates next winter, this eight-day sailing showcases some of Italy and Croatia’s most stunning scenery, from the arty streets of Naples to the Sicilian region of Taormina and Zadar’s imposing mountains. Passengers will also enjoy overnights in Dubrovnik and Venice.
2. Europe Winter Riviera
For seven days, your clients can soak up the magic of Italy, southern France and Spain. After departing Rome, more stunning architecture, sumptuous cuisine and unbeatable shopping opportunities await with stops in Livorno, Genoa, Nice and Barcelona. This itinerary will have eight departure dates from November to March.
3. Winter in Italy and the Adriatic
Sailing just once on November 6, this eight-day trip offers the perfect mix of small towns and larger cities. The journey begins in Athens and, after sailing through the tiny Corinth Canal, passengers will have the chance to explore the quaint Greek town of Itea and the vibrant island of Corfu. The rest of the trip includes stops in Crotone, Taormina in Sicily, Naples
and Rome.
4. Southern Spain Winter Escapes
This nine-day round-trip cruise from Barcelona will take place four times in the winter season. There’ll be plenty of time for guests to immerse themselves in the charm of Barcelona before setting sail for Valencia, Cartagena, Malaga, Gibraltar and Palma. For clients keen to explore more of Spain, recommend they take the high-speed train from Barcelona to Madrid either before or after their sailing.
5. Winter in Croatia & Greece
To close out the winter in style, recommend this eight-day sailing that departs from Venice on March 26, 2025. Star Legend will call at Koper in Slovenia, the Croatian ports of Zadar and Dubrovnik, Kotor in Montenegro and Delphi in Greece before docking at its final stop in Athens.
6. Christmas cruise
Setting sail on December 23, the Europe Winter Riviera journeys from Rome to Barcelona, including an overnight stop in Livorno for those who want to attend Christmas Eve mass at the breathtaking duomo (cathedral). The ship also docks in Genoa and Nice, and passengers can soak up the festive spirit on board with decorations, activities and traditional dishes.
7. New Year’s cruise
Meanwhile, a Southern Spain Winter Escapes cruise sails round trip from Barcelona from December 30 to January 8. The itinerary ticks off Cartagena, Malaga, Gibraltar and Valencia, while an overnight in exciting Palma on December 31 promises an unforgettable New Year’s Eve.
