AE Expeditions releases first impact report

AE Expeditions has released its first impact report detailing the measures the line is taking to embed sustainable practices.

The report, titled Protecting the World’s Wild Places, reviews the company’s programme of initiatives, focusing on the planet and people.

The line said the report acknowledges its ongoing emission reduction strategies and advocation for the development of new technology to make the expedition cruise sector more sustainable.

AE Expeditions is in the process of applying for B Corp certification and is currently at the evaluation stage with an expectation of completion by the end of next year.

Chief executive Michael Heath said: “We are incredibly proud to release our first impact report which outlines our commitment to sustainability and our vision to be the global leader in sustainable expedition travel.

“This is about transparency and accountability for us as a business and acknowledging where we are on our sustainable journey.

“We are acutely aware of the planet’s rapidly evolving climate crisis and the urgency with which we must all work together to help protect and regenerate our shared planet.

“Expedition travel holds a unique opportunity to educate and inspire people which we believe is pivotal to safeguarding the wild and awe-inspiring places we visit.”
