Agents gain personal discounts as Major Travel marks 50th anniversary

Agents are being offered exclusive discounted rates for personal travel as Major Travel marked its 50th anniversary.

The ‘Major 4 Me’ incentive was unveiled at a celebration in London attended by 300 guests to mark five decades since the operator was established by Mark Widdowson in 1974.

The trade-only operator also introduced an AI assistant designed to enhance agent support.

Major Travel has continued its expansion this year by expanding into Ireland and is preparing to enter the US market in 2025 after the company’s acquisition by InteleTravel.

More than 20 prizes were given away at the event, including a Caribbean holiday, a safari, a £1,000 holiday credit and free nights in destinations such as Cape Town, Dubai, the Maldives and Ras Al Khaimah.

Strategic director Abbas Datoo told agents: “You are the heart of Major Travel. We thank you for your trust, support, and partnership. Here’s to many more years of travel, partnerships, and memories.”
