France’s Parc Astérix will reopen to guests from April 9, with a revamped rollercoaster set to open during the month, and new parade.
Named after the comic book hero, the theme park is 22 miles north of Paris and offers visitors 47 attractions and shows.
The upgraded rollercoaster, Tonnerre 2 Zeus, will open on a date in April that is yet to be announced and will feature new carriages including an inverted carriage at the rear.
The new Gaulish Parade will star Asterix, Obelix, Cleopatra, Caesar and the characters from the Village, plus the chariot of Julius Caesar, a Cleopatra float and a float featuring the “Indomitable Gauls”.
Visitors can take part by playing the role of a Roman or an Egyptian.
The attraction is next to a 450-room themed hotel complex in the Oise-Pays de France Regional Nature Park.
