A Hays Travel branch manager has been sharing her festive experience of Lapland after winning a three-night fam trip to the destination.
Lauren Sweeting, who manages the Taunton branch in Somerset, won the trip from Santa’s Lapland during the Hays Travel retail managers’ conference in Portugal last month.
She described the Santa’s Magic break as “the most amazing trip” with “one of our fantastic tour operators, Santa’s Lapland”.
Sweeting flew from Gatwick and stayed in the resort of Saariselkä, on a half-board basis at Santa’s Hotel Riekonlinna.
“I was really impressed with the selection of food, especially for those with dietary requirements such as gluten or dairy free,” she told clients on social media.
“The location of the hotel was amazing and the resort of Saariselkä has something for everyone, whether you want to toboggan, ski or just explore the local Finnish gift shops.
“I have booked Lapland many times over the years and have always wondered if it is truly worth the price tag.
“After my trip I can 100% honestly say that it is worth every penny!”
Her many highlights included taking a sleigh ride through the forest to meet Santa, driving a snowmobile, taking a husky ride and reindeer safari, seeing the Northern Lights and roasting marshmallows on a fire.
“My experience cannot be explained in words, so I’ll let my pictures and videos do the talking,” she said, sharing many photographs from her trip.
There were 11 agents on the fam trip, from Magic Breaks, Not Just Travel, Barrhead Travel, Your Travel Dreams, Santa Claus Trips and Hays Travel.
