Inspire Group workers to take digital detox this month

A digital detox theme is being introduced this month by Inspire Group as part of an ongoing wellness programme.

A ‘sacred hour’ will see meetings banned between 12 noon and 1pm in August and staff will be encouraged to take a break from their desks during the day.

Meetings will be cut to 50 minutes from an and hour to ensure that staff have at least ten minutes before their next meeting.

One-to-one meetings will be encouraged to be ‘walking meetings’ to make sure that team members take some time to be outside of the office during the day, according to the Cheshire-based company.

A walking challenge will randomly allocate employees into teams to encourage team building, and involve a number of challenges with prizes for the winners. These include points that can be redeemed against a selection of rewards or half a day off.

The wellness initiative was introduced a year ago with the aim of supporting its staff based at its office in Bramhall and its growing number of independent travel advisers.

Managing director Lisa Henning (pictured) said: “Our team has responded really well to our wellness programme over the past year and embraced the many initiatives we have introduced.

“As we all know, we live in a constant digital world, and we are trying to encourage our team through August to take some time away from their computers and phones and take breaks outside.

“Our wellbeing programme helps to bring our employees together and create an environment where they feel valued and supported.

“Our aim is to create a positive work environment and encourage the right behaviours and as a result individual and organisational health and wellbeing initiatives are embedded in everything we do as a business.”
