Jo Rzymowska to quiz headline speaker at Abta’s Travel Convention

Long-time industry leader Jo Rzymowska will interview Blaire Palmer, an expert in leadership, at the Abta Travel Convention in Greece in October.

Rzymowska, a former senior figure at both Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruises and now a non-executive director at Hays Travel and founder of consultancy Jovolution, will question Palmer following her keynote presentation on the changing nature of leadership and work.

Palmer, a former producer of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme producer future of leadership expert, and now a business consultant and author will propose a devolved model of leadership given the changes at work in the last two years.

Hybrid working, the technological transformation, the competition for skills, staff wellness and mental health, and the need to embrace diversity, equity and inclusion all call for a different style of leadership from the classic top-down decision-making model.

Palmer, who writes a monthly column for HR publication HR Zone, will provide insights into the most innovative boardrooms and trends, and explain what works and what does not when it comes to developing a thriving organisation and culture.

Rzymowska transitioned from a 40-year corporate career to helping businesses and individuals through coaching and mentoring last year.

She was recently named in the 2024 Attitude 101 List of the most influential LGBTQ trailblazers.

The Travel Convention will take place on October 7-9 at the Costa Navarino resort in the southwest Peloponnese of Greece.
