Leger Holidays has produced a special Battlefield Tours with Specialist Guides brochure, due to be with agents from early June, to coincide with the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
This invasion of Normandy by Allied troops was a turning point in the Second World War, leading to the eventual liberation of France and Europe.
The 68-page print, or downloadable brochure, uses the tagline ‘Walk in the Footsteps of Heroes’ and brings together a wide collection of battlefield tours available to book through to 2026 on selected tours.
‘D-Day Landings in Normandy’ tours are included in the brochure, along with other World War II tours, European and worldwide conflicts, including World War I, the Napoleonic Wars, the Peninsular War in Spain, and the American Civil War.
Seven new tours for 2025-26 are added to the collection – Ypres: Battles in Flanders Fields; Somme 110th Anniversary; Battlefields of Loos – 110th Anniversary; End of the Western Front; Dunkirk 85th Anniversary; Last Days of WW2 and Warsaw Uprising & Treblinka.

Leger sees ‘unprecedented’ demand for D-Day battlefield tours
Each tour is accompanied by a specialist battlefield guide and include escorted coach travel from the UK and B&B accommodation. Some tours offer the option to travel to the destination by air.
Prices start from £399 for the All Quiet on the Western Front four-day introductory tour, which travels to the WWI battlefields of Flanders and France, visiting Ypres, Passchendaele and the Somme.
Solo traveller tours, with no single room supplement, are also included in the collection.
Ashley Dellow, Leger Shearings Group’s head of retail sales, said: “Military history is a fascinating subject, and interest in family history prompts many to book a battlefield tour, but also a significant anniversary, such as the D-Day 80th commemorations, attract attention.
“Agents should be prepared for interest, especially following the expected extensive media coverage of the commemorations in Normandy on June 6, and familiarise themselves with Leger’s new battlefield tours brochure.
“Plus, until July 15, agents can offer their customers a £50 per person low deposit on battlefield coach tours.”
Liam Race, Leger Shearings Group chief executive, added: “This year marks a special year in the calendar as we commemorate the 80th anniversaries of the D-Day Landings, the Battle of Arnhem, and the Battle of the Bulge.
“These anniversaries allow us to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who endured the harrowing circumstances of war. As the UK’s leading provider of battlefield tours, we’re committed to keeping the legacy alive, offering a fascinating collection of tours covering many military campaigns.”
