LGBTQ+ specialist Chillimix announces drag queen cruise

LGBTQ+ holiday specialist Chillimix has partnered with DFDS to unveil its first drag queen cruise itinerary.

The DRAGged to Amsterdam cruise will take place on board King Seaways, departing Newcastle on October 7 and returning on October 9.

The cruise includes dinner on both evenings, followed by a drag show featuring the operator’s six resident drag queens, and ending with a DJ set finishing at 3am.

On Saturday, October 8, guests will have five hours to explore Amsterdam, with transfers to and from the ship included, as well as breakfast on both mornings and a welcome drink on arrival.

The cruise has capacity for 400 passengers and Chillimix said it will support the trade with marketing materials and sales enquiries.

The lead-in price is £199 based on four people sharing, £229 based on three people sharing, or £249 based on two people sharing.

The operator, which only offers holidays to “LGBTQ+ safe destinations” said it chose Amsterdam as the location for its first cruise as it represents “everything Chillimix is about”.

Managing director David McDonald said: “We are really excited for our first exclusive DRAGged cruise. We have chosen Amsterdam as our first destination as it is a fun and vibrant city.

“We wanted to offer an exclusive weekend cruise for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies, filled with drag, fun and an experience like no other.

“We only have capacity for 400 passengers and we are delighted to say we have already seen fantastic interest and sales. This is bound to be a sell-out cruise and this will inevitably be the first of many that Chillimix will be offering.”

Nicky Yates, trade partnership manager, said: “DRAGged to Amsterdam is already proving to be a hit and we are here to 100% support the trade with marketing materials and sales enquiries.

“This is a unique product filled with fun and we are all here to support our agent partners.”
