Newmarket Holidays has added extra dates to its 11-day Cairo, Luxor and Nile Cruise tour in response to a surge in bookings.
The operator said it has seen an increase in Egyptian tour bookings of more than 300% in the last 12 weeks compared to the same period in 2019, with forward bookings for the year ahead also at higher rates than three years ago.
Newmarket Holidays said it is predicting “bumper sales” for the year ahead and has added 10 dates for its Egyptian tour to accommodate this.

Starting in Cairo, the tour includes excursions to the Great Pyramids and Egyptian Museum before guests travel to Luxor and board a river cruise along the River Nile, stopping at the Valley of the King, Temple of Horus and Aswan High Dam.
The tour includes three-nights’ B&B accommodation at the Hilton Pyramids Golf Hotel, a seven-night stay on a Nile river cruise vessel on a full-board basis, return flights to Cairo, internal flights, coach travel, transfers and a tour manager.
Head of long-haul Kathy Vigolo said: “We believe that this incredible increase in bookings and interest in our Cairo, Luxor and Nile Cruise escorted tour arises from a long period of pent-up demand for the destination following the challenges Egypt has faced in recent years, most recently with the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Richard Forde, head of retail sales, said: “This holiday really ticks all the boxes. The fact it is a tour and cruise combined with so much included demonstrates really great value and, therefore, makes it an easier sell for travel agents.
“Plus it flies from seven regional airports including Aberdeen, Manchester, Belfast and Edinburgh so it really has nationwide appeal.”
