Niche operator Adriatic Holidays and Cuba specialist Live Holidays cease trading

Niche gulet cruise operator Adriatic Holidays and Cuba specialist Live Holidays have ceased trading.

Adriatic Holidays was a trading name of Explore Montenegro Ltd and offered cruises in Croatia and Montenegro. Earlier this year the company outlined plans to develop its trade distribution.

Explore Montenegro Ltd also traded as Explore Montenegro and Montenegro Holidays and held an Atol licence to carry 996 passengers a year.

Live Holidays traded under the names Cuba Direct and Live Cuba and held an Atol until September 30.

A statement on the Adriatic Holidays website confirmed directors had called in administrator Neum Insolvency and the company had ceased trading with all staff made redundant.

Clients with affected bookings would be contacted by the administrator, the statement said, with the CAA being the point of contact for Atol-protected bookings.

It added: “All clients currently away on holiday will be able to continue their holiday and return home as normal, however no future departures will be taking place.

“We would like to thank all our clients for the support over the years and apologise for any inconvenience this will cause.”

The CAA confirmed the failure of Live Holidays on October 4, and said it was currently collating information from the company before providing more information.

It asked those affected not to use claim forms from other failures in the interim as these would not be accepted.

In a note to travel agents, it said: “If you are currently holding consumer payments which you have not yet paid to Live Holidays Ltd, you are advised not to refund consumers with these funds until you have received instructions from the Air Travel Trust.

“Travel agents will be individually contacted by the CAA with specific instructions for these bookings.”
