Riviera to require proof of vaccination or negative Covid test

Riviera Travel will require all clients on its holidays to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or present a negative test, before travel.

Any guest who has not had both doses of the vaccine will be offered a free Covid test to allow their holiday to take place.

The escorted tour operator said the move comes following feedback from guests, including a recent survey, which indicated this safeguarding should be in place before travel.

The requirements also apply to Riviera’s river and ocean cruise crew members and tour managers.

All crew members will have additional daily temperature checks and ongoing health screenings.

Riviera requires guests to have had both doses of the Covid vaccine, with the second dose a minimum of seven days before travel.

Any guest who tests positive before their holiday will be able to transfer their booking to an alternative date, free of charge.

Jim Forward, Riviera Travel chief commercial officer, said: “Ensuring guests’ peace of mind is a priority for us, so we’re asking everyone who travels with Riviera to have had the full Covid vaccine or presented a negative test. We can’t wait to welcome holidaymakers back so will take care of any associated costs.

“These measures, combined with our comprehensive health and safety procedures, means guests can look forward to their Riviera holiday with happiness guaranteed.”

Guests who book by April 30, 2021, or new bookings for 2022, can be changed for free up until September 30, 2021. Covid cancellation protection is included as standard.

Riviera Travel said it will make use of the“most appropriate type of Covid test at the time required”.

Guests will receive a pre-travel questionnaire, asking them to confirm their vaccination details.
