Riviera Travel sales team creates app to allow more agent visits

Riviera Travel has created a new sales app designed to save its team enough time to do an additional 1,000 agent visits per year.

In an interview with Travel Weekly, head of trade Tom Morgan said the tool, which is being implemented throughout October, is a “game changer” for the operator and will reduce its sales team’s admin work by more than 50%.

The app will record real time feedback from agents and give data driven information to both the sales team and the trade which they can use to inform future bookings.

It will also aim to “marry up” agencies from different parts of the country with similar demographics to share sales tips.

“We’ve been working on this project for the best part of six months and it’s finally coming to fruition so we’re really excited,” said Morgan.

“We ask agents to complete feedback each time they secure a Riviera bookings and we now have this really good reporting software which automatically generates the information as a web link to the agent for them to read a breakdown of what they’re selling not just by tour type, but by destination, by lead-in time before departure and by the airports passengers are typically flying from, so it’ll be really helpful for them.

“That information previously had to be manually inputted by our sales team which used to take around 25 minutes. With the new app that data will appear in 30 seconds which will reduce the team’s admin work by 50% or roughly one whole day per week.

“With that time they can do around 1,000 extra visits, more customer events, more agent training and more engaging with our accounts so it’s a total game changer.”
