The owner of Seaside Travel has thanked operators and the local community for their support on the opening day of the agency’s newest shop.
Nicola Park opened the agency’s fifth retail store on Tuesday (April 26) in Haltwhistle, Northumberland.
Staff received gifts from people living in the local area, as well as presents and visits from operators including Jet2holidays, Newcastle airport and Gold Medal.

The store opening was also attended by agents from Seaside Travel’s other branches who went along to support their new colleagues.
“The opening went absolutely brilliantly and the community have taken to us really well,” said Park. “All the [staff] that we’ve got are local so they are very well known.
“We had a bunch of Seasiders up yesterday helping and we’ve had the same today.
“We’ve also had lots of suppliers up, including Jet2, Hays Independent Group, Newcastle Airport, Gold Medal and Seabourn, so we just had a lovely opening day and it was so kind of people who bought us gifts.
“But, more importantly, we had a really busy day and did plenty of bookings. We are chuffed to bits with the whole thing.”
