Seaside Travel to expand with fifth shop

Seaside Travel has announced it will open a fifth shop in Haltwhistle, Northumberland.

Agency owner Nicola Park told Travel Weekly she is “over the moon” to be adding a new store to her portfolio and is keen to take advantage of every opportunity following the challenges of the pandemic.

“I went to the Jet2 conference in November and the theme was who dares wins and I just think that after Covid, it’s time we grab everything with both hands because we never know what’s around the corner,” she said.

“We used to go to Haltwhistle on holiday quite a lot and I noticed it had no travel agents and wondered why not. It’s a village that is very similar to the other villages I have shops in and it has a really good community spirit with lovely people who love each other, and that’s the theme of Seaside Travel; I love my team, they love me and we love our customers.”

Park is looking to hire at least four new staff to fill the shop, which is scheduled to open in six weeks.

“I need a whole new team from managers down to part-time sales consultants,” she said.

Park went on to say she will continue to expand the brand as long as she finds the right location.

“I 100% have expansion plans, it just has to be the right place with the right feel. I need to fall in love with the shop and the town straight away, and the town has to fall in love with me.”
