Travelsphere restarts overseas touring with Malta holiday

Escorted tour operator Travelsphere has seen the departure of its first overseas holiday in more than 20 months, when a group set off for Malta on Thursday (November 4).

The eight-day Discover Malta tour explores the island’s cuisine, culture, heritage and coastline.

Liesa Bissett, Travelsphere’s product and operations director, said: “We are so excited to be sending our Travelsphere customers to Malta, our first overseas holiday for what feels like a very long time.

“Malta is the perfect tour to get things restarted – our customers can enjoy plenty of walking, an evening of traditional food and entertainment, and they stay in a beautiful four-star hotel right on the seafront in St Paul’s Bay.”

One of the experiences on this Travelsphere tour is a visit to the Saluting Battery, in Valletta, where one of eight replica cannons is fired daily at midday.

Bissett added: “During our tour of Valletta, customers get exclusive access to the area where the cannons are located.

“As midday approaches, we will be invited to help prepare the cannon and enjoy the spectacle when it is fired.”

On November 15, Travelsphere will be take a group to Jordan on its eight-day Ancient Wonders tour, visiting the ‘lost city’ of Petra, the Dead Sea, the capital Amman and the preserved Roman city of Jerash.

Guests will also spend a night in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum, with local cuisine and stargazing.
