Safari specialist Acacia Africa has added four tours in Botswana as it predicts a surge in safari bookings this year.
The overland tour specialist, which offers tours in custom-built vehicles, named Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Namibia as the destinations most likely to reap the benefits of increased interest in authentic African adventures in 2025.
It has added four new eight-day tours in Botswana – which has strict limits on visitor numbers and has more than 37% of its land dedicated to conservation – to its Adventure Camping and Adventure Accommodated collections.
These include the new eight-day Okavango Delta & Chobe Express Adventure Camping Tour, which takes customers into the heart of Okavango Delta. It includes a sunset cruise along the Chobe River and game drive in Chobe National Park. The safari finishes at Victoria Falls in Zambia.
The trip costs from £1,008, including a 15% discount, plus £312 for an adventure pass. The price excludes return international flights but includes all transport in destination, camping accommodation, most meals, a tour leader and driver.
Also new is the eight-day Chobe & Okavango Delta Express Adventure Accommodated Tour, which starts at Victoria Falls, includes Chobe National Park, and finishes in Windhoek, costing from £1,616 after a 10% discount. This includes four nights twin share accommodation and three nights in in a pre-erected ensuite tented camp.
Sales and marketing manager Arno Delport said: “Africa was one of the few regions to exceed its pre-pandemic tourism levels in 2024, so we’re expecting a safari boom this year.
“Botswana’s pristine wilderness and unrivalled game viewing continue to captivate adventurers, while Zimbabwe is proving to be another popular destination, its rich history, exceptional conservation efforts, and adventure-packed safaris making it an attractive option for UK travellers.”
He added: “Acacia Africa continues to work with the trade and offers competitive commissions for agents.”
The operator is also running a sale of up to 15% off its Adventure Camping tours departing until the end of May. Further discounts of 10% are available on its Adventure Camping Tours from June 1 until December 31, and on its Adventure Accommodated Tours and selected Small Group Safaris from March 1 until December 31. Trips must be booked by February 28.
The seven-day Kruger & Matobo Rhino Encounter Accommodated Small Group Safari, with game drives in Kruger National Park, costs from £1,562, based on two sharing, down from £1,735 thanks to a 10% saving. A safari pass costs an extra £312.
