Bookings open for ‘iconic’ new Atlantis Dubai hotel

Bookings open today (Monday) for new Dubai hotel, Atlantis The Royal, ahead of it accepting guests next year.

The 795-room property will be 43 storeys high with 44 of the luxury suites and penthouses featuring private infinity pools.

The six towers that make up the building are connected by a 90-metre long pool on the 22nd floor, which forms part of an outdoor entertainment venue called Cloud 22 with private plunge pools, a swim up-bar and DJ booth.

Atlantis The Royal will be home to celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal’s first cocktail bar, which is set to feature a 6.5-metre high jellyfish aquarium.

Guests will be able to control their room temperature, lighting, television and other amenities via their mobile phones. They will also be able to personalise their room with technology that loads streaming media and other accounts to in-room TVs.

Before opening to guests, Atlantis The Royal will hold a ‘Grand Reveal’ in January, promising a star-studded line up echoing the launch of Atlantis The Palm in 2008, where guests included Robert DeNiro, Gerard Butler, Kylie Minogue and Priyanka Chopra.

Tim Kelly, managing director of Atlantis Dubai, said that the building will become an instantly recognisable icon of the Dubai skyline.

“Openings of resorts like this one only come around once or twice in a decade, and we can’t wait to share it with the world,” he added.
