Home of Reuben’s Retreat to host Inspire Group conference

The Inspire Group is to hold its 2023 conference at the home of charity Reuben’s Retreat instead of a hotel or conference centre.

The ‘conference for good’ will take place on November 13-14 at the base of the charity in Glossop, Derbyshire, with delegates asked to make a donation rather than be charged a fee to attend.

Around 100 delegates are expected to attend including the group’s independent travel advisors, business partners and head office staff.

The conference theme for is ‘Your World Your Way’.

Managing director Lisa Henning said: “We believe that our approach to stage our 2023 conference at the facilities of the Reuben’s Retreat charity is both unique and ground-breaking in as much as we won’t be asking delegates to pay to attend the conference, but instead asking them to give a minimum donation to the charity.

“We will also be asking our suppliers and business partners to do the same and in doing so, help to raise much-needed funds for the excellent work that Reubens Retreat has become so well-known for. Delegates can either make the donation themselves or do their own fundraising activities.

“This approach is particularly timely given the challenges that charities are facing currently.

“We work with a number of high-profile charities, such as Family Fund and The Family Holiday Charity, and we understand how difficult it is to raise funds against the current economic backdrop and cost-of-living crisis.

“Through our relationship with the team at Reuben’s Retreat we want to help support them the best way we can by giving back and benefiting those that need it most.

“We are hoping that through this innovative approach it will encourage other travel companies to look at doing the same when it comes to their meetings and events.”

Nicola Graham, Reuben’s Retreat founder, added: “I look forward to welcoming the Inspire team to our beautiful Retreat, a building steeped in history, gifted to our town in 1889.

“We are currently undergoing an ambitious multi-million-pound renovation plan, to be able to eventually host holidays here for complexly poorly children and their families, and families bereaved of a child.

“We look forward to sharing our journey with the Inspire team and connecting their altruistic and compassionate energies with our site, surroundings, and unique cause.”
