A specialist operator to Greece, backed by one of Europe’s largest travel groups, is to start selling in the UK.
Online firm Eliza was here is part of the Dutch Sunweb Group, which claims annual turnover of more than €700 million.
The company is behind several brands operating in seven international markets: the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, UK, Germany and France.
Eliza was established 20 years ago and is offering packages in the UK to 10 destinations in Greece, including Corfu and Crete.
A spokeswoman said after a launch event in London: “They generally do not sell through travel agencies, though there is some exception to this in the Netherlands, and it is something they may consider introducing in the UK going forward.”
Managing director Tim van den Bergh said: “We are very excited to introduce the UK to Eliza was here and take new customers to new places that they would never have known about before.
“We love uncovering the best destinations to give people the trip of a lifetime and help people find what they weren’t looking for. We pride ourselves on that personal touch.”
