Tui Group is to open its first hotels in China under expansion plans designed to attract more holidaymakers from Asia to its in-house properties.
A total of six Tui Blue hotels are planned in the country as part of wider global expansion of the lifestyle brand.
The half dozen properties in China are in addition to other planned throughout Asia, including destinations in Bali, Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The expansion into China is part of a pipeline of 23 new hotels across four continents over the next two to three years.
A delegation from the Chinese province of Anhui visited the new Tui Campus headquarters in Hanover last week to discuss the region’s “enormous” tourism potential.
The Tui Blue Fuyang in Anhui will be the first hotel to open in winter 2025-26.
Tui said: “The spectrum of tourist activities in China ranges from vibrant cities to unique landscapes and cultural heritage.
“The planned Tui Blue hotels, which will gradually open over the next three years, reflect this diversity.
“While some are located in popular urban destinations such as Shanghai or Taicang, there will also be classic beach hotels such as the Tui Blue Clearwater Bay in Hainan (pictured), as well as properties in scenic heartland regions.”
The company added: “With the expansion of its hotel business, Tui will in future also attract new guests from Asia to the group’s popular hotel brands.
“The global hotel brand relies on international partnerships with management and franchise agreements.”
