Agents win slice of £200,000 in Royal Caribbean contest

Agents from Premier Travel, Cruise Circle and Travel Village Group won total investment of £65,000 in the second round of a Royal Caribbean International contest.

They were three out of five finalists in the second round of the line’s Royal Pitch trade competition.

The agents were rewarded for business ideas put forward to judges including entrepreneur and Reggae Reggae Sauce creator Levi Roots and the line’s EMEA vice president Ben Bouldin to win a portion of £200,000 in total investment.

Their ideas ranged from content creation and local sponsorships to radio marketing.

All five of the agents who made it to the final also receive £6,000 worth of marketing spend with Cruise Critic, which can be used on a range of items including emails and display ads.

The next round of entries opened on October 3 and agents have until November 20 to submit their creative proposals ahead of a third round of judging on December 6.

To enter the competition, agents need to submit a video via the Club Royal website that details their creative business proposal and requested investment in under five minutes.

UK, Ireland and Spain sales director Stuart Byron said: “Myself and the other judges were thoroughly impressed by the unique and creative thinking shown by the finalists in this round.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the concepts come to fruition and the impact on their business growth over the next 12 months.

“After this round, I’m even more excited for the next to hear more ingenious ideas from our agents.”
