Ambassador Cruise Line has updated its financial protection arrangements as it agreed to join Abta.
The single ship company, which started operations in April, revealed that passengers are financially protected by a financial failure insurance policy in compliance with the Package Travel and Linked Arrangements Regulations 2018,
This is managed by TMU Management and underwritten by Accelerant Insurance Europe SA.
Ambassador Cruise Line will continue to pay consumer deposits and balance payments into an independently managed trust account.
The company said: “As the travel industry faces a new, more cautious traveller landscape, Ambassador not only adheres to the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 but seeks to further reassure potential guests with its innovative financial protection model, using intuitive technology to provide real-time data to insurers, currently unique to the line in the UK cruise sector.
“All guests will be automatically transferred to the new scheme with effect from Thursday 29th September 2022.”
Chief executive Christian Verhounig added: “At the heart of the Ambassador Cruise Line proposition is one objective, to prioritise the guest. This extends far beyond the booking and onboard experience.
“We are delighted to announce that Ambassador is now an Abta member.
“Our comprehensive insurance scheme also means guests are reassuringly financially protected and can book with confidence and peace of mind”.
A second ship, Ambition, is due to enter service next May, joining Ambience.
