Barrhead shifts focus to lates with summer marketing campaign

Barrhead Travel is highlighting last-minute travel in its current marketing push as it reports continued demand for late bookings.

Its “SOS – Save On Summer” campaign launched earlier this month with a new television advert, designed to create a sense of urgency while retaining a “playful spirit”.

After the TV advert debuted on Scottish terrestrial channels, it was followed by a national and regional advertising, as well as on-demand targeted video opportunities.

SOS – Save on Summer will primarily promote the lates market, encouraging prospective holidaymakers to visit their local Barrhead Travel to let agents “rescue their summer” by finding them a deal.

Other activity includes local marketing packs and summer selfie “photo-booth” props for every branch.

Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, sales and marketing director at Barrhead Travel, said: “We are gearing up for a strong summer period over the next few months and the breadth of our marketing activity will reflect this.

“It’s our biggest summer campaign since before the pandemic and our fun creative is designed to pique the interest of existing and new customers.

“Promoting value-for-money, financial protection and expertise is top of our agenda when it comes to key messaging.

“We want to give people the confidence that there are still great deals available for last-minute travel – if you speak with a real expert.

“The key holiday periods so far – Easter and the Bank Holidays – have resulted in record-breaking sales for us and I think the appetite for travel that we’ve seen so far this year will continue into summer.

“We’re noticing that second and third holidays are now being booked as well, which is a positive indication that travel will remain a priority for the remainder of the year.”

Barrhead Travel’s SOS – Save on Summer campaign will run throughout the summer season.
