Celebrity MasterChef star joins virtual Travel Counsellors event

Entrepreneur and Celebrity MasterChef contestant Amar Latif has taken part in the second Inspire virtual conference, held on Wednesday (June 14) by Travel Counsellors.

Latif (pictured left) was the first blind contestant on the TV show and spoke about how he learnt to see the world differently and how obstacles can be opportunities.

The inaugural Inspire conference was held during the pandemic in March 2021 with members of the Travel Counsellors community and guest speakers.

Travel Counsellors has recently reintroduced in-person events but feedback showed that virtual get-togethers were sometimes preferred as they enable agents to watch live or at a later time when their schedule allows.

‘Take time to make time’ was the theme of the second Inspire event, which was a five-hour conference broadcast live from the in-house TCTV (Travel Counsellors TV) studio.

As well as Latif, agents heard from Dave Callan, new customer director at Travel Counsellors, and success and mindset mentor Lorna Dunning.

Franchisees were also shown how to make the most of the technology and tools available to them, including the in-house booking platform Phenix and integrated mobile app called myTC.

Jim Eastwood, global sales director at Travel Counsellors, said: “We wanted to give everyone time to reflect and look to the future with positivity, given all they have been through in recent times – whether that’s personally or in business.

“Current departures are exceeding those in 2019 by more than 30%, so the wellbeing of our Travel Counsellors community is of paramount importance.

“If there is one takeaway from yesterday’s session, that would be: take time to make time for you and your business.”
