Former Focus Travel Partnership director Martin Pearce is returning to the business travel consortium to spearhead a project.
The new business development project aims to help the group’s 50 travel management companies (TMCs) to diversify and grow their partnership.
Pearce will look at recruiting new corporate members and how to bring more larger TMCs into the group’s commercial agreements with airlines.
Abby Penston, chief executive of Focus Travel Partnership said: “I’m thrilled Martin will be working with us. He provides a wealth of experience and entrepreneurial drive.
“Unlike the leisure sector, business travel has at least been able to function during the later lockdowns, but inevitably, we have already seen some consolidation in our sector. Martin will be an instrumental addition to the Focus team as we reshape and lead the sector out of the worst crisis the travel industry has ever encountered.
She noted: “Focus Travel Partner TMCs have shown remarkable resilience and proved how valuable their skills of navigating through a complex travel landscape have been for their clients.”
Pearce said: “The pandemic has affected all of us in many different ways and we have all been through this together.
“We need to move forward and strengthen the partnership with new members who meet the Focus ethos and have the desire to be a part of this amazing group. I am delighted and proud to be back working alongside my friends and former colleagues at Focus to achieve this aim.”
