Not Just Travel has reported its biggest sales day ever with bookings ‘flooding in’ – and expects bookings momentumn to continue to build.
The homeworking group hit a new sales record on January 24 with sales up more than 300% compared with the same day in January 2021, and 50% up on January 2020.
Sales were up more than 40% on Blue Monday, when Not Just Travel reported its biggest sales day on record with an average booking value of £5,000.
Partnership manager Dave Pope said: “The government’s travel announcement on Monday is yet another confidence boost for travellers.
“We are entering a new era of travel where clients are relaxed, confident and ambitious. People are booking bigger and more expensive holidays as obstacles are consistently removed.”
Top selling destinations included the Maldives, USA, Spain, Dubai and Greece.
Co-founder Steve Witt said: “We expect next Monday to be even more phenomenal, as people will have been paid and consumer confidence is booming.
“The dam has finally burst for the travel industry as bookings are flooding in. Since the pandemic started, all our efforts and training has been for this moment.”
One travel consultant, Gilly Bachelor secured over £50,000 in holiday bookings, earning upwards of £5,000 in commission in a day.
She said: “I had several big bookings to South Africa and Mozambique, Florida and Universal Studios Hotels and a group holiday to Ibiza.”
