Panache Cruises plans to raise £50k for Reuben’s Retreat

Panache Cruises is planning to raise at least £50,000 for Reuben’s Retreat this year through three different fundraising activities.

James Cole, founder and chief executive officer of the cruise specialist, will embark on a sponsored climb of Mount Kilimanjaro for the charity as part of a group of 18, including his wife and two sons, on June 1.

There will also be a sponsored climb of a hill near the company office in Chorley, which Cole expects will be tackled by about 50 people who are unable to travel to Mount Kilimanjaro.

The agency will also donate £10 for every booking made in 2025 and will encourage customers to match it.

Cole said: “We have been supporters of Reuben’s Retreat over the last few years. We are close to the charity and we know Nicola and Mike as I have worked closely with them over the last couple of decades.

“This year being a special year for me hitting a landmark birthday, it seemed to be the right thing to do to give back. It is always good to have a focus and give back to the community.”

He added Panache Cruises colleagues had visited the retreat in Glossop several times, which he described as “absolutely amazing” at helping families through tough times.

Cole said the agency is “guaranteeing Reuben’s Retreat £50,000” but that he is “optimistic we can raise more funds”.

“They will be renovating four apartments costing upwards of £1 million, so the closer we can get them to that target, the better,” he added.
