Support pledged to Hays Independence agents facing withdrawal of SABS systems

Hays Travel has pledged to support members of its Independence Group after SABS Travel Technologies disclosed plans to remove and discontinue support for its back-office systems.

The Quantum cloud-based platform and older legacy system Traveller are being withdrawn by the end of the year.

Hays Travel chief operating officer Jonathon Woodall-Johnston said: “The announcement from SABS Travel Technologies will be disappointing to many.

“We all want to focus on meeting our customers’ needs, but if the last few years have shown us anything, it’s how adaptable and resilient we are in travel and tourism.

“Over the years we have supported many travel agents and businesses in their transition to our Hays Travel Independence Group, which involves complex data moves and learning new systems.

“We are confident that we have the capacity and expertise to support any businesses affected.”

Hays Travel Independence Group members use an integrated system to sell and manage bookings, which in turn is linked to an enquiry management tool.

The system provides real-time connectivity on everything from airlines and cruise lines to hotel providers.
