Virgin Voyages has expanded its UK sales team with the appointment of Jenny Lyons.
Shane Riley, Virgin Voyages’ international sales associate vice president, said she will “further enhance support for UK First Mates” – the cruise line’s name for travel agents.
He said: “With 35 years’ experience in the industry, Lyons is well respected and best placed to help us strengthen our First Mate support.
“Lyons will initially focus on enhancing our support processes before supporting First Mates in the field.”
Lyons’ appointment comes as Virgin Voyages prepares to announce the third ship in the fleet later this month.
She most recently worked for homeworking specialist Aquilium Travel Group, as head of sales and development.
Lyons worked outside the industry for a courier firm after being furloughed and then made redundant from Polka Dot Travel in June.
Other roles have been with Thomas Cook, Tui and cruise lines such as P&O Cruises.
