Windstar Cruises confirms new UK GSA

Windstar Cruises has appointed The Cruise Line as its new general sales agent (GSA) in the UK.

Travel agency The Cruise Line, founded in 1993, will put out a targeted sales and marketing campaign aimed at boosting bookings and increasing the line’s market share.

The team at the Sussex-based agency is available to take new Windstar bookings and help with any queries immediately, the line said.

Windstar Cruises was forced to switch GSA when The Cruise Portfolio closed after 31 years once its main cruise line Crystal Cruises ceased operations earlier this year.

Robin Maclear, managing director of The Cruise Line, said: “The Cruise Line is delighted to be acting as GSA for Windstar and developing sales through our agent network in UK.

“Windstar Cruises has long been the preferred small ship experience for clients favouring a 300-passengers or less capacity ship.

“With Windstar’s worldwide fleet and four ships in Europe this year, we see this as a big opportunity for agents and we look forward to developing a rapport to service their business.”

Anna Perrott, Windstar Cruises’ UK & Ireland business development manager, added: “We’re really excited to be working with The Cruise Line.

“We have enjoyed a successful relationship with them for many years and I’m confident they can help us with our expansion plans within the UK.”

The Cruise Line will support Windstar Cruises’ acting business development manager, Megan Saunders, and Perrott when she returns from maternity leave.
