Abercrombie & Kent has added a new five star small group tours option as it releases its 2019/2020 Escorted Tours programme.
Immersive Journeys are limited to a maximum of 18 guests and have been “designed with the trade in mind”.
Its 13 tours across 12 countries in five continents include visits to meet locals in a remote Peruvian village or peeking inside the vaults of a museum.
The addition of Immersive Journeys means Abercrombie & Kent now offers two types of touring – in addition to its existing Luxury Small Group Journeys. Both are sold via agents.
All A&K escorted tours, which average 14 guests, are led by the operator’s tour directors, feature only five-star accommodation and include welcome and farewell dinners, all entrance fees, taxes, tips and WiFi where possible. Departure dates are guaranteed once two people are booked,Immersive Journeys, which are at a more leisurely pace, include support of an escorted group but “with more freedom”. They are designed to be “in-depth and informative, giving guests the chance to understand the culture, history, and get under the skin of a location”.
There will be no single supplement for the first four solo places booked on each tour and guests can choose which experience options they want to take part in.
Existing Luxury Small Group Journeys, of which there are 31 across the world, are under the guidance of guides, Kerry Golds, managing director of A&K, said: “We’ve been pioneering luxury travel since our inception over 55 years ago. We’re continually on a quest to provide the best experiences to guests new and old with the trade in mind.“
We believe there is a gap in escorted touring which goes beyond the five-star – which is why we’ve launched our Immersive Journeys programme. We’ve created it with the UK traveller in mind. We’ve consulted with our trade partners and listened to what their clients want. We’re excited for this new iteration of our escorted tour programme and to further work with the trade.”
To celebrate the launch of the programme, A&K is offering a reduced deposit of £250 on bookings confirmed by December 31.
