Ryanair has announced that customers who buy an allocated seat for their flight can now check-in up to 60 days in advance.
Passengers who choose a seat – for €6 – can choose to check-in earlier than before either on the website or mobile app. They used to be limited to a 30-day check-in having paid for a seat.
The move is part of the budget airline’s Always Getting Better programme to improve customer service.
Customers who don’t wish to purchase an allocated seat can check-in between four days and two hours before their flight and will be randomly allocated a seat.
Ryanair’s chief marketing manager Kenny Jacobs said: “We are pleased to introduce 60 day check-in for customers who purchase an allocated seat, the latest customer initiative as part of our “AGB” (Always Getting Better) programme, doubling the check-in window and providing more choice to consumers.
“While we continue to innovate, the one thing that won’t change is our low fares, and our customers will still enjoy the biggest and best choice of destinations, with the most on-time flights and a fantastic onboard experience, as we continue to grow our fleet, traffic and routes.”
Rival budget airline easyJet offers customers the chance to check-in at any time and also charges for allocated seats.
