Abta Travel Convention delegates appear to have escaped a hurricane heading towards The Azores this weekend.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office issued a travel alert this morning about Hurricane Ophelia.
The storm is forecast to bring hazardous sea and weather conditions to the Azores islands from around Saturday.
British travellers in the area have been told to follow the advice of the regional government, including any evacuation orders.
The convention in Ponta Delgada ended on Wednesday with final delegates flying back to Gatwick last night.
